It’s Mother’s Day. And this year I celebrated my first one. For those who don’t know, my husband and I recently got a puppy, a Miniature Schnauzer named Sherlock. He is the most adorable ball of fur you’ll ever meet! Hubby gave me a card from Sherlock. In the card my little nunu thanked me for all the 3am mornings when I let him out so he could do his thang. So cute, man. Hubby also made me breakfast in bed, and I even got a prezzie! A box of Sally Williams nougat. Yes, please.
I decided to dress up for the day… In a dress I wouldn’t normally wear! But I’m really glad I took the risk to get out of my comfort zone and wear something printed, trendy, and super fitted. I felt covered but somewhat exposed. It’s a nice feeling, strangely enough. I almost feel like it was a big step just getting out of my comfort zone and to try new things!
My style is very simple, and I hardly wear any accessories. And here, I paired this oh so fabulously loud printed dress with a black beanie just to tone it down a tad, and of course my trusty black stiletto booties. These puppies are super comfortable – except when you have to walk on cobblestone like I had to when we had lunch at The Hussar Grill, Willowbridge Mall. Every girl’s nightmare I tell you! I concentrated, held onto my core for dear life, but I made it! Yeah!
If you have any kids, Happy Mother’s Day to you. I myself am the daughter of an amazing woman. My inspiration. My mother. I love her so much! She truly is the strongest person I know, and it really makes me feel proud to be her daughter.
Thank you for all that you do for me, dear Mommy. I don’t have words. I really don’t. All I have is an immense respect for you, and an overwhelming feeling of love for you. This dress I’m wearing literally has the word LOVE printed all over. In the same way, when I’m in your presence, love is all around, and I don’t want to be anywhere else.
